Genetically Superior

Proven for over 40 years

Laake Forest trees represent the best of the genetically superior trees that evolved from significant research which began at Purdue University in 1968. All trees are genetically-identical clones of the parent cultivar which represented superior growth rates and form.

Superior Growth Rates

It has been proven that genetically improved cultivars have the potential of rapid growth rates while maintaining superior wood qualities including superior toughness, improved grain deviation and less knots. Seven years after planting, Laake Forest trees grew at the rate of 1.00 inches per year Diameter at Breast Height (DBH).

Superior Form

As all trees mature their form improves. The parent genetically superior clones are known for their superior stem straightness as well as tree's vigor and vitality. Seven years after planting Laake Forest trees grew to an average height of 25 feet 4 inches.
